speaking of shades , im still comtemplating whether to get the dior shades in brown , though i already got one in black. or maybe i should just wait for the next season's stuff than make a decision. i rather spend 400 bucks on other stuffs.. like , shoes ? haha

i have no idea why people in school start saying that im ice queen or simply that im a snob. just because i wear shades to school ? crazy can , whats wrong. though i admit , i seldom open mine mouth and chat first with others , but then again , im always like that, with or without the shades. i just put on the shades once i get down the car , and take them off when im in lecture hall , and pop them back on when im outta of the lecture hall once classes end when im on the way back to the car. i may seem a lil unsociable , but im certainly not snobbish can. all i wanna cover is the makeup-less big fat face la ( cos im simply too lazy to wake up early to makeup ).

cos i kept complaining that i ate too much and probably gained a good 3 - 4kgs from the indulgence of suppers from the past few weeks.
that day , we were at supermarket in amk hub ,
saw a weighing machine , and he casually said , go weigh la , see how fat you are now.
i looked down at the scale , and the needle stops right between the 30 and 40 mark.
then he said these , you better eat more and gain at least 2kg arbo i dont want you liao la.
=(

i dont look as boney as someone mine weight should be.
i wonder why ..
MUST BE THE HOLLOW BONES ! ( due to the absence of milk / calcium ?!?! )

went to Expo for John Little Sales ,
and i bought boxes and boxes of eyemaks for mummy and mineself , makeup removers for jasmine , boxers for daddy and mrLim , and tonnes of rubbish more

Prada can be pretty nice too. haha

went town with mummy and precious =)
pick up some clothes and toys for precious at Paragon , and i love the shades i saw in Gucci =D

okay , so whenever i have quality time for myself to mask/detox/scrub/hairtreatment and whatsoever ..
the urge to blog always comes into my mind.
however..
yeah , the key word is urge.
haha , ever since i started working , urge to blog never seems to be able to overcome the urge to sleep. laughs.

work is good =)
and i got a feeling , work is gonna be even better in 2 months time.

the girls ive grown to be so attached to when i was in wisma , is gonna be together again.
this time , in one big family , same family =D

1. 27th January came by.
its our 5th =)
as usual , we took time off and went Chinatown for a stroll together.
why chinatown ? to sum things up , it was the place of our first date , back in 27th January 2005.
and yes,
every year since then
we will make it a point to stroll Chinatown together , enjoying the festive atmosphere.
=)

2. oh , remember the small candydoll haul mention in my previous post ?
the parcel came , and the packaging of the makeup is so , cutesy !

mineral loose powder , lipgloss , lipconcealor, pinkblusher, highlighter
so cute !

and tsubasa masuwaka is so pretty !

which reminds me , her line of fake eyelashes was launched in Ngee Ann City Watsons for a week few days ago =D
i had to grab a couple ,

pink , ribbons , polka dots. total killer. laughs

3. changed my skincare regime , like again.
bought the newly launched Acai Berry Cleanser ($51) and Serum ($84) from Kiehls.
it is doing alot of good to my skin =)

4. finally cleared my vanity ,
and for now , im able to fit everything into the tray i used to store my products =)
plus im quite into handcreams as you can see ,
loccitane stuffs are so so addictive !
im gonna head back to get more handcreams !

and finally our last stop was having dinner at amk hub..

bought couple of things , like etude house hand mirror and a lipgloss , plus some nail polishes from face shop =)

im like pretty into nails at the moment.
gonna get opi nail polishes from fairy , at only $8.90 per bottle , anyone interested in joining me ? mail me !

oh and i recently dyed my hair to a darker shade of brown =)
its pretty obvious under the flash of the camera..

im considering to go a shade darker. laughs.
meiwei is taking over my throne for kim moh ah lian. LOL !

i went and im back from Prestige Sales.

honestly , this year sales is a major disappointment if compared to last year's.
the prices are higher , and the variety damn little la !
but the crowd was madness..

Pnj : nail polishes, eye liner , mascara , foundations ( liquid & creamy compact ) in super dark shades , lipsticks and eyeshadows. No loose powders , no pouches , not much skincare , no lipglosses.

Givenchy : some skincare ( not interested so didnt bother to take a better look ) , loose powder and eyeshadow quads at $34/ $35 dollars each ! They were like only $19/$20 dollars each last year. Blushers refills , pressed powder refills , lipsticks , lipglosses , compact powder etc.

i spent like less than 50dollars for myself.
3 pnj lipsticks , and 1 givenchy pressed powder

quite happy with the lippies , cos i was eyeing them everytime im working. lol !
the best thing was , the price stated on the stand was like 12dollars each i think, but when i paid at the cashier , they were only 10dollars each !
total steal considering that 1lipstick is retailing at 37- 39dollars at the counters.

gonna head out in awhile for shopping session with Prisca =)

slacked til 6pm and went over to Ion for window shopping with dionne.
more like chatting and strolling around instead of shopping , laughs.
this is why i love working in IO , the girls there are very easy going and super fun to be with =)

i have no idea why am i still up at this hour..
but well , at least there is no work tomorrow

i havent been sleeping well recently.
its been a long 2 weeks..
and i lost like 2kgs within 7days.

BUT
ive gain them back..
not a good thing.
36 sounds little , but i kinda like how i look when the weighing machine reflected that number.

36 is gonna be like my ideal weight from today.

no more munching , no more snacks
less carbo , less starch

hopefully i will be arnd that weight before my 22nd =)

and yes ,

my 22nd is like 1month and few days away.
i dont want to grow old ,
can i like live in self denial and be sweet 18 forever , laughs

pearly's wedding , amanda's 22nd coming during early august =)
im gonna be busy !
and for now , i like being busy.
time flies , and there is no time for the mind to wander around.

when mummy warned me that 2009 is not gonna be a good year for rabbits ,
i never expected it to be this bad.
i honestly wish life can return to the days the entire grp of us were at raining bar almost 4nights a week , getting drunk and having hell lot of fun together.
For during then , all of them , were safe and sound.

how time flies ,
ive been working for almost 3 months already !

to be honest ,
i really love the working environment.

it had been ages since i swarm , but true enough the calmness of the pool made me think through some stuffs.

ive been using alot of new skincare products now that im in the beauty industry =)
the numbers of tubs , jars , bottles and tubes on my vanity is damn horrible !
i dont dare to count the exact total , laughs.

All these years , ive always been alone.
Close friends turn their backs on me , betrayal is something i became very familiar with.
People say , boyfriends come and go , but friends stay forever.
but all along , I beg to differ.
Since my very first relationship , Ive learnt to rather give up my own friends then give up my relationship. Because friends is not something that will stay with me.
Ive been betrayed by more so called best friends then the number of relationship i have.

Ironically is that ,
the ones who always claim to be my bestest friends , turn out to be the one who hurt me the most.
I will never forget that you said whatever you mentioned is the truth and only the truth , and yet that very sentence total bullshit.
And neither will i forget , the you who wanted to savage the friendship, and yet helping the one whom you yourself said isnt worthy to help.

My dad told me this when i was younger ; you always remember this , only daddy & mummy will never betray you.
yet I refused to believe , friends were way too important then his crappy words at that time.

This year , im turning 22,with even lesser friends then before.
sometimes i feel lonely
and i envy mrLim.
His bunch of friends have always been there , some since years ago , some only recently.
but between them , there is no plots , no backstabbing , no betrayal , no jealousy.
Just loyalty and friendship.
They celebrate and enjoy together when the times is good ,
cry and hurt together when something happen ,
when someone makes a mistake , no one is out cast , no one is blamed ,
they stay together and face the situation as a group.

I feel very lucky that they accept me as part of the clique , accept me as a friend.
And i am contented with it.

And so ,
my one resolution for 2009 is ,
with or without friends , i will live my life well and i will be happy =)

anna - for everyday cleansing , i pour some of the cleanser into a spray bottle , and spray the liquid onto the bristles after using and onto a kitchen towel , then brush onto the kitchen towel til the brush is clean =) for deep cleansing every week , i pour the cleanser into a cup and swirl the brushes and rinse them well , then leave them to dry =) haha , i love using makeup brushes !

Brushes Entry =)

before i start ,
i was at Mac earlier , and i was super tempted to get a 2nd piece of 109 brush and 188 brush to keep ! but , i managed to walk out without getting anything =)
mrLim thought i really kept my words about not spending anymore on cosmetics until next year , but what he didnt know is that i already paid for a brand new tube of UDPP and 2 lavshuca eyeshadow palettes online. haha !

anyways ,
i tend to reach out alot to my MAC full size brushes as compared to the other brands that ive got.
so yeah , all the below mentioned are full sized mac brushes.

and oh ,
full size brushes from MAC are all handmade , the bristles are all made from goat's hair , while the SE ( the short handled ones which comes in a bundle of 4 or 5 during collections ) are mass produced and the bristles are a mixture of synthetic hair and goat's hair. thus , there is a difference between the quality of full size brushes and the SE ones =)

am not at home at the moment , so i wont be posting up the pics i took.
the ones in the mac website are much clearly actually =)

Face Brushes -
109 brush ; $58

this is meant for contouring , but after seeing some youtube videos raving on what a great foundation brush it can be , i had to get one to apply my bb creams ! Application is a breeze , just dab dab and brush in circular motions , best thing is , flawless effect =D
i have to go back and get a backup !

187 brush ; $82 or $87

Duo Fibre brush , very raved in forums , for foundation and blush application.
i have 3 187 , one for bb cream , one for cream blushers and the other for powder blushers.
187 gives a airbrush effect ( but not as flawless as the 109 ) when i use my bb cream , basically by the stippling method ( can try google about it ) , but i particularly love using 187 for blush application , it deposits the correct amount of powder / cream onto your skin , dont have to worry about over doing your blusher. Very good brush to invest in !

oh and , a smaller version of 187 is called the 188 ; ( no point putting the pics in , cos they practically looks the same just that 188 is smaller in size ). i bought the 188 for blush purpose , the size is just nice to sweep some colour onto the apples of your cheeks =)

129 brush ; $60

my very first MAC brush , stole it from mummy's dresser actually , LOL.
basic blusher brush , and though i have other alternatives for blusher brushes , i do reach out back to my 129 pretty often.

168 brush ; $57

some people uses the 168 for blush applications , but i prefer to use it for contouring purposes. the angle of the bristles just fit into the hollows of your cheeks ( suck in your cheeks and you will see the "hollows" ).

Eye brushes

209 brush ; $30

i prefer to draw a fine precise line for gel / cream liners , so i dont usually use the brushes are comes with some of the liners. 209 is this sharp-liquid-liner-brush-tip look alike , and i love how much control i have to draw whatever kind of lines i wanna draw.

213 brush ; $32

my main eyeshadow brush =) i got like 3 213s in my brush stand , the bristles are densely packed together , thus able to pick up a good amount of eyeshadow !

217 brush ; $33

this is a 2 in 1 brush ( blending and applying eyeshadows ) , i use this whenever im rushing for time , for i can just apply , and blend blend blend , instead of using 213 to apply , and 224 ( which i will review below ) to blend.

224 brush ; $53

stella88 - i generally prefer to use a base before applying eyeshadows as the pigments / powders will stick to your eyelid better as compared to without using a base , and in that way , the eyeshadows will last longer and because i have double eyelids , if i dont use a base , i'll end up with a eyeshadow crease where my double eyelid is ( as in the powder will get stuck in the line , damn yucky )

cheryl - i personally have no used ettusais or revlon LF , cos ive heard and tested that revlon LF is too thick for my liking , i personally prefer a sheer coverage of foundation / bb cream. As for Mac LF , it too is a lil thick in consistency , but i tone it down by mixing the LF and my moisturiser ( in serum form ) in the ratio of 1 : 1 , it gets more diluted after mixing. And anyways , mac is pretty good =) but ive read alot of reviews that revlon is a good dupe for mac LF !

And i honestly dont know what brand of eyeshadows can give the same looks/effects as the lunasol palettes i bought , but you can try MM , their eyeshadow palettes (price ranges bout 24.90 - 25.90) or single eyeshadows (9.90) are very raved in forums and they are quite pigmented. And oh , mac eyeshadows are good too ! bout 28dollars per pot if i didnt remember wrongly. if you wanna get japanese brands , coffret dor's eyeshadow palettes are very pretty and shimmery too , bout 54 per palette. else , kate will be a good alternative , bout 25 - 26 per palette =)

Colour Review
A ( Top Left ) : Olive green which reminds me alot of the colour of green tea with generous amount of gold shimmers.

B ( Top Right ) : Pearly reddish wine colour , which goes on very subtle and very soft looking on lids.

C ( Bottom Left ) : Loaded with shimmers , colour still goes on very smoothly on lids without any gritty feeling.

D ( Bottom Right ) : Dark shimmery purple ( though i know it look kinda brownish in pan ) ; definately not a wild colour , very ladylike and soft in my opinion.

Ive nothing but raves for lunasol eyeshadow palettes =)
the colours goes on very pigmented , powder is finely milled.
loaded with shimmers and glitters.
and the mirror compact is so pretty !

-Beaute de Kose Eye Fantasists BE355
-Lunasol Geminate Eyes 01 Cat's Eyes
- Mac Eyeshadow in Black Tied
- Maybelline Gel Liner in 01 Black

Colours used ~
A - Dark shimmery coffee brown with a slight greenish tinge
B - Black eyeshadow filled with black glitters ( not chunky ones )
C - very shimmery soft yellow gold

( forgot to place chic choc eyeliner in black , heroine liquid liner & HR mascara together for photo taking )

after lining inner eyelid

after applying eyeshadow

- Apply beaute de kose eye fantasist onto entire upper eyelid
- Use A , brush and blend onto upper lid.
- Apply B .near lashline and blend towards crease
- Lightly pet C onto middle of eyelid ( close your eyes and touch your eyelid , the part where it bulges out slightly ) to make a 3d pop effect .
- line eyes with Maybelline gel liner =)

and you're ready to head out for some partying !

alot of you babes have been asking about gransenbon blushes.
- now most watsons should be selling them already , 29.90SGD , very very shimmery blushes in my opinion , not very suitable for those who dislike shimmers , have problems with enlarged pores.

for me , gel liners generally dont smudge ( no matter which brand ) , for pencil liners , chic choc doesnt smudge on me , dior pencil liner smudges a lil bit at the end of the day , while for liquid liners wise , kate super sharp doesnt smudges on me too.

hey - well , as the names suggest , gel liners are in gel form and liquid liners are in liquid form. gel liners , you need to purchase an additional brush ( if it doesnt come with it ) , like mac fluid lines , bobbi brown gel liners all doesnt come with a brush. For myself , i have slight oily lids , and gel liners doesnt smudge. and yes , the maybelline gel liner does comes brown , not a matte flat colour like the black , but a slight pearly shimmery brown. try deep cleansing masks to clean pores and that will make pores look smaller =) remember to follow up with hydrating masks !

Girl - will recommend you to get an eye concealor instead if all you wanna cover is eyebags =) our skin around the eye area are the thinnest and most sensitive , better to use eye concealor / brightener instead of using foundation. i got the feverlet bb cream for 40plus if i didnt remember wrongly.

as ive said in my earlier post when i posted the pictures of the Lunasol Christmas Coffret set ,
i really think the set is a must buy for this christmas ,
very worth the 99dollars price tag ,
because it consists of a 4colour eyeshadow palette , blusher , clutch and nail polish,
moreover , a lunasol eyeshadow quad itself is priced t 77dollars each !

EX04 Soft Silver Lighting

Colours ( without flash )

when swatched on hand ( left : without flash ; right : with flash )

A - looks dead whitish on pan and when swatched , but once brush on lids , it turns out to be a very soft pinkish white shimmer , very pretty !

B - mauve pink shimmery shade which doesnt make me look bruised as compared to normal pinkish pink colours , very obvious shimmers on pan and when swatched but goes on pretty subtle on lids.

C- pretty dark coffee brown which looks great when used to line eyes , very pretty even when lightly applied on lids for a nice casual look.

D - very glittery as compared to the above 3 shades , filled with silver glitter bits instead of silver pigments.

The eyeshadow brushes are of very good quality too !

ive always felt that Mac fluidline in Blacktrack is true black just with one stroke as compared to other brands ( eg canmake , kate , sonycp , bobbi brown ). Thats why im like always reaching out for it =)
but when i tried out the maybelline gel liner 01 on the back of my hands at watsons earlier , the shade of black is much more intense and darker !

Hi - ive bought alot of different brands of bb creams , and most brands ( if not all ) are from korea. which one are you asking about ? if you meant the one im always raving for , its feverlet bb cream , can get from sprees =) try googling it , pretty easy to find.

mt - hmm , are you allergic to any products ? or have you seen a skincare derm ? there might be alot of reasons why the pimples and bumps are coming back , my advise will be , cure the pimples first , peharps with your normal cleansing routine + applying pimple cream religiously before you tackle the problem of the bumps ? just in case any new products you use to treat the bumps might aggravate even more pimples. and if there is nothing wrong with your cleansing routine , and even applying pimple cream dont help , can try going to a skincare derm to get oral medicines and stuff. Else , maybe you can first try to use a gentle deep cleansing mask ( i know this sounds weird , like what ? deep cleansing mask how can be gentle ? if not how to deep cleanse ?? ) , i mean gentle in the sense that it wont dry your skin too much and aggravate the pimples =) can try shiseido purifying mask , i super recommend this for sensitive skin , it deep cleanses well but doesnt dry out skin at all =) and please remember to follow up with a good hydrating mask.

ive been busy !

first up ,

this combination of deep cleansing + hydrating masks is one that im using quite frequently now.
Garnier Pure Deep Cleansing Mask - 1.95 for 2doses (usual price - 2.95) from watsons.
Watsons Green Tea Essence Mask - 1.95 per piece during promotions from watsons.

the other 3 deep cleansing masks that i use.

Origins Clear Improvement - 41dollars
Shiseido Purifying Mask - 64dollars
Kose Exfoliating Massage Gel - 35dollars

and , another combination of masks that i love using now is

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Peel Mask - 2.95 during watsons promotions
Neutrogena Deep Hydrating Mask - 1.95 during watsons promotions

other than the above ,

i use oxy mask in between days that i do the deep cleansing + hydrating routine.

oh , and avene soothing masks , plus my beauty diary masks =)

hihi - yup , the maybelline palette shadows are pretty pigmented =) good enough to show , lol. if you prefer , can always use a base like UDPP. as for medium skintone , honestly i dont really know , but i would say try out earthy neutral colours first if you are a beginner in applying eyeshadows , very safe =) and different people suit different colours / shades , ive a friend who's skintone is similar to me , she takes purple colours very well , but for me , i look like ive bruised eyes if i use purple shadows , lol ! gotta play around with colours and find out for yourself.

passerby - i dont know any miracle solution for your pimple breakout , but get a pimple cream , and apply diligently everyday , cleanse tone moisturise your face per normal, and please do not squeeze the pimples! i will dap a dot of deep cleansing mask onto any pimple ( or pimple to be ) and leave the dot over night , usually the swell and redness will reduce by the time i wash it off the next day. And if your pimple breakout is not caused by mense period / stress , maybe can check out why it will happen , like maybe too much oily food in your diet etc , or sometime dont really suit you in your skincare ?

lineey~ - hi , its 52 or 53 , cant really remember =) and yes , i like it quite a lot. been repurchasing everytime i finished one tube.

had our bi-monthly haircut over at kimage with scarlet =)
never regreted that i heed adels advice and try scarlet out few months ago.
